Lacunas is a photography series shot in a field in the Moscow region. It documents a staged performance in the absence of a "real" spectator — an attempt to explore what photography is beyond evidence. Here, the camera becomes the only possible witness.

The photographs are taken with an exposure correction of −2 to −3 stops. The ratio between the cube and the surrounding black space shifts across the series: the cube stays the same size while the print dimensions change.
